Lions Club of Vidyaranyapura was chartered in the year 1994 by the Lions Clubs International.
The members of the club include people from all walks of life who subscribe to the Philosophy,
Goals, objectives and code of ethics of Lions fraternity.
The resident’s may be aware that, the initiative for conserving and developing the Thindlu tank
was first taken up by the Club in the very first year its establishment. It liaised with the Forest
department and held awareness programs. One of its awareness programs on the tank even
filmed by the former actor and documentary producer L. V. Sharada and telecast on
Doordarshan.
Many may also be aware that considering the then remoteness of the locality, the club had set
up an Oxygen Cylinder bank for critical patients. Over the years, our Club has adopted
Government Schools at Narasipura Doddabettahalli, Singapura, Varadarajanagara and
Veerasagara at various point of time. The club has also provided infrastructure requirements
and other facilities as projected by these schools. In certain School, toilet facilities have been
built. Scholarships are provided to deserving children and health check up camps for the
children is conducted. In addition, Lions Club of Vidyaranyapura Conducts Periodically special
health camps for Diabetes, Cardiac, Dental, Cancer Detection etc. Voluntary Blood Donation
Camps are conducted twice or thrice every year.
